This is my first Brother printer (didnt get off Amazon) and i have to say am very impressed. Had to replace an Hp photosmart C6380 and deskjet 1200c, which both decided to die within days of each other, so had get a replacement quickly. It is fairly big, but doesn't take up any more space than the deskjet A3 printer.
Setting up was easy but took a long time, have got it connected by USB to my main PC but was easy to set up wireless on 2 other laptops using the supplied CD.
I haven't set up the fax so can't comment but the scanning is easy following the directions on the LCD monitor. The same applies to the copier. i like the fact that it has a multi page feeder for copying or scanning.
The printing function is what really impresses me. everyday printing is done on fast normal setting(economical) and so far I am still on the same cartridges after 1700 pages, and have also done A3 and some photo printing. the low ink staus has come on but no loss of quality yet. print quality if good and have not had any jamming or poor prints. photo quality is good for everyday prints, however took a bit of time to get the paper tray and print preferences sorted.
The paper tray is easy to load and easily expands to take paper sizes upto A3. the tray is supposed to hold 50 pages, but i think 75+ would be a better estimate.
Only drawback is it can be a bit noisy, particulary when it goes through its cleaning cycle.
would I reccomend it, Yes.
