My Epson Stylus Color 880 printer ( 10 years old) finally was put to rest after spending all day and several ink cartridges attempting unsuccessfully to unclog the print head I threw in the towel. A replacement head was £102 so that was the final straw! I spent next day researching ( faffing about ) and finally settled on the Brother MFC-J265W. I ordered it Sunday mid morning and was taken aback by the delivery van next day 10:00 AM ! Cannot believe it. Other companies please take note this was a FREE delivery. Nil, Nowt, Nada, not a bean for postage. Printer has worked flawlessly, WiFi to router was a breeze so now I can print from the Netbook I have from another room. I did hit one snag on setting up the supplied printer software "Control Centre 3" which I installed on two computers. The first computer ( Vista OS) sits next to the printer and the software installed no problem. However the second computer ( Windows 7) did not take kindly to the Control Centre 3 installation and sat there waiting for the USB cable connection to the printer to be established ( which had been done ). No amount of coaxing would make this work. This problem was caused by the length of the USB printer cable, which although it worked on the Epson it was a no no as far as the software was concerned ( timing ?) anyhow I shortened this USB printer cable from 20 Feet down to 16 Feet and that was that.
