Easily the best Bodybuilding book on the market today!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Brother Iron, Sister Steel: A Bodybuilder's Book (Paperback)
You can tell from the first page that the knowledge being imparted in this book comes from someone who loves to lift weights, and the enthusiasm is infectious. This is not your typical bodybuilders book the prose flows easily and makes the book a joy to read. Dave Draper presents his experiences from 40years of training and trys to get the reader to learn from them but he also trys to get the reader to develop and use there own experiences to make gains.Dave cuts through the BS and pseudo-science and provides book that is as much a guide to life as a guide to muscle building. The highest compliment I can give to this book is that I am able to re-read it,I can always dip into it for inspiration. This really is the thinking persons guide to training...BUY IT ...TODAY

High expectations, slightly let down,
This review is from: Brother Iron, Sister Steel: A Bodybuilder's Book (Paperback)
Being a subscriber of Dave Draper's newsletter and his website, I knew I had to get a copy of this book, hailed by many as the best bodybuilding book on the market. In reality, when I read the book, I was slightly disappointed. It is nowhere near the "bible-like" status as is (justifiably) awarded to Stuart McRobert's "Brawn" books. It is more for the fan of bodybuilding/Draper himself, for the completists. Draper's writing style may not be to everybody's tastes. It is a great book in that respect, as much as it is a book for motivation, and how Draper started out, how he won his world titles and his philosophy. Overall , it is a very interesting book which gives us tremendous insight into a man who was one of the very best bodybuilders of his generation.

Probably the best book on bodybuilding in the world....,

This review is from: Brother Iron, Sister Steel: A Bodybuilder's Book (Paperback)
This book has given me a new perspective on a complex subject by just telling you to go and do it. All of the endless reps and sets and exrecises and combinations of each are touched upon in a brief and frank manner - but as he says in the text, you can read all you want, but you'll find him in the gym. Fascinating and reassuring that we are not mad when choosing to heave lumps of metal above our heads. Its a way of life (although Im not so sure about his tuna and water suggestion!).
