This compact A4 inkjet all-in-one printer provides the same professional standards you would expect in the office, with a design that will fit right in at home. It's built for work, offering fast quality printing, scanning and copying in a compact all-in-one machine. Many time and cost-saving features come as standard, such as automatic double-sided printing. Wireless network-ready out of the box means you can share the features with the whole family, and with it's impressive photo quality and 20 sheet photo tray, the family might want to use it too. And having the option for low and high yield toner cartridges, and lower power consumption you can keep running costs to a minimum.

With more than 3 million of us working from home, the more need there is for a printer that offers professional office performance. One that works as fast as you, gives you the quality you want, and one that is not just a printer, but also a copier…a scanner. This level of multi-functionality often results in a printer that, while perfect for the office, can look a bit out of place in the home. Unless you choose one of Brother's new A4 inkjet all-in-one range.

In one compact machine, you can not only enjoy the same professional standards of print as you do in your workplace, but also a design that you’ll feel very comfortable with.

I bought this printer few months ago from Printland and I have to say it's working really good
wireless is easy to set up with PC's or laptops, previously had an Epson one from PC world but never again
A hundred pounds for printer it's quite a lot but it's worth that money (U gonna save much more on inks:)
If you want to invest your money in good printer take a Brother one won't be disappointed

5.0 out of 5 stars i have to share how good these are.... 11 Aug 2012
quality very good, cartidges off amazon or ebay(non brother but not refills)1 each if you buy 10 and they last ages.ease of use, after 20 minute set up,runs wirelesy perfectly, its quick, quiet, never makes inky mess, really easy to change cartridge.i dont use the fax.copies easy.ive had it 9 months and its used 30 times a day or more sometimes.just the saving on ink make it silly to buy anything else.my mum spends 15 a cartridge on her canon.but on this, they are so cheap i dont worry about the kids printing loads off.nothing bad at all.dont be fooled by 35 printers...theyll get you on the first few cartridges.

Bought this to replace an old HP Photosmart, which finally bit the dust. Was going for another HP but various issues have clouded my view. Was looking for a printer that can scan/copy too for work requirements. Also one which will be used on a daily basis knocking out student cards/reports and plans etc. So far, so good.
It's easy to set up, and quietly sits sleeping until I press the print button and it springs into life. It's noticeably faster than the old photosmart too.
The print quality is fine for what I need, and more importantly the inkl is far cheaper than the equivalent HP ones. This was another reason for buying Brother.
The touch screen is easy to read and simple to use with not too many options and settings to play with and get into trouble. The set up process was simple. Just accept factory settings, put in the disk, and it does it all for you in no time at all.
It has a USB port for scanning straight to disk if required. Yes it's not the smallest, but if space isn't an issue, this is fine.
The only cheap feel comes from the paper tray which slides completely out in order to load up, but what would you expect for the money? It doesn't bother me at all. Paper loading is easy, with an easy to use sizing slider.
A nice touch, that the old printer didn't have, is the stretchy connector for the lid which allows larger books and documents to be scanned/copied without excess ink shading around the edges;these allow the lid to lay flat on the documents without being held down by a spare hand.
The top also opens up to allow duplex printing, which so far has worked perfectly.

Would I recommend this? Well, although I've had it less than a month, yes I would.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, versatile printer 30 July 2012
Verified Purchase
The printer was delivered promptly with no problems. In common with another reviewer, it took a while to set up the wireless, but that was probably us! Once set up, there have been no problems whatsoever in communication between computer and printer.

This printer is quick and quiet, and the touchscreen is intuitive and responsive. It is well-equipped and well-designed with useful features such as duplex and automatic document feed. Ink management is easy as usage is monitored on the screen and cartridges are easy and relatively cheap to replace.

The quality of printed black text is excellent, but in the few documents with colour that I have printed on ordinary paper I have noticed that the colour is not as quite as deep as you might expect. That, however, is the only negative point about this printer.

In short, highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the wait 7 Oct 2012

Delivery failed to arrive so called Amazon who immediately contacted the retailer who, after drawing a blank with the (well known) courier, promptly (within 48 hours)sent a replacement out at no extra cost; fantastic customer service. Having been without a printer for some days (my Lexmark had died!) I was keen to get it up and running. It took longer to get the printer out of the careful packaging than it did to set it up. Once plugged in and the ink cartridges loaded (a doddle), the touch screen panel made easy work of a few commands and within a few minutes it was linked into my wireless home network. I used the DVD supplied with the printer to load the drivers on to a laptop and within another 5 minutes or so I was running a test print. Faster and quieter than my old (wireless print/fax combo Lexmark). One thing I particulalrly like on the Brother is the horizontal/integral paper tray which means the paper isn't out in the open gathering dust. Strongly recommend this printer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice little printer for the price. 6 July 2013

Quite a compact little printer for the price. Good printed results and the cartridges are easy to install. I went from an HP which I had used for a long time but wanted to try a different brand for comparison; pleased I did. Good wireless or direct connectivity. Card slots for SD cards and Memory Stick/Duo I don't really like the fact you have to remove the paper tray to refill it but that is my only real niggle. Quick delivery in original substantial packaging.
