The great thing about this printer is that it simply works. Straight out the box & connected to my home wireless network (Apple extreme). All the print drivers are built in to Mac Os Snow Leopard so getting the printer to work was dead simple - in fact, it literally was a case of plugin & play.
The quality of the printing is excellent and print time is reasonable. Printer can also be used as a photocopier - the sheet feeder mechanism works well. Toner is reasonably priced.
Scanning required a download from the Brother website. The scanner networked easily. The software provided, akin to the printer, is purely functional - some would perhaps criticise it for being a bit too puritanical. But it does work well. Scanning is a bit on the slow side, however...
The printer does not win any points in the style department - however, it is functional and practical and works right out the box - it networks well. For this reason - it gets the thumbs up - if you want a good printer that just simply works then this will see you good.

Takes up a fairly small space, and does everything well - printing, copying and scanning. In my opinion Laser printers are always better than inkjets for image quality and speed. Very reliable: had mine over two years and no problems. When it gets jammed (which happens, but is almost always my fault) it's easy to un-jam. My printer came with very useful software called Paperport, which will scan to a PDF file; I've found this and the other features of Paperport (e.g. basic OCR) to be invaluable and quite easy to use. The wireless feature is also good. If you need a small MONO multi-function printer I recommend this.

instalation took less than 15 minutes, plugged into router, setted up ip manually, installed drivers (supplied whit 2 cd, one for win7, other for xp,vista etc). 1st page printed for test purpouse, and happy with results. quite easy manual, one tricky point was inserting drum, wasnt sure if its in correct position.
also quite suprised about languages it have, not that i need it, just english is fine, but seeing polish is not as common, so + for that.
theres no usb or ethernet cable, so just make sure u have it (got to many spare, so im relieved). supplied only power cable.
as for now, out of 5 it gets 5. its everything i expected. will need scanner test later on to see what this baby can do.

Great office printer scanner
The MFC did exactly what it was suposed to do. It was easy to set up and can be used by everyone in the office without using a print server. Very clever
