In this deluxe 75th Anniversary of the Broons and Oor Wullie you get not just a wonderful book but a CD of specially recorded `Broons Ceilidh Classics' So why not torture your favourite Scot and nail his feet to the ground and play this) < I am of course JOKING!!>
Also included is a neat Oor Willie 2012 Calendar which I have not had the heart to break out of its plastic wrapping just yet.
This mirrors the wonderful stable mates of the Broons and Oor Willie The Dandy and the Beano Annual special focusing on Dennis the Menace.
They really have pulled out all the stops to make this an attractive package to match this years Dennis 60th Anniversary edition * and it is sure to bring smiles to the faces of the recipients this Christmas.
Again this edition features classic stories from the combined genius of Robert D Law and the marvellous art of Dudley D Watkins with a wonderful mix of old Photographs of the time which I as an Englishman really enjoy. It really gives you an idea of what times were like and puts the strips in their historical prospective. A truly inspired idea.
The art work and craftsmanship is exemplary as always. The book never outstays it's welcome and you will end this one just like previous years not with relief at finishing but regret that you have had your annual `fix' of these wonderful DC Thomas strips.

The Broons and Oor Wullie collections are just fantastic and now we've reached the 75th Anniversary of the first strip, DC Thompson have put together another excellent compilation of some of the best strips from those 75 years.
Also with this luxury book you get an exclusive CD of The Broons Family party music AND an exclusive Oor Wullie calendar! The usual nostalgic features and photographs are included to make this a wonderful trip down memory lane. The music on the CD - 'The Broons Ceilidh Classics' - has been specially recorded for this collection. As a special bonus for this birthday edition ome of the archived strips have been printed for the First Time Ever!
If you are a fan you would have seen how the cartoon strips in recent years have been sanitised sometimes to the point of dullness in these overtly pc times but these retrospectives are a different matter, harking back to days when boys could be boys and people were allowed to have fun. It's wonderfully nostalgic to peep into the past through these excellently drawn cartoon strips. The humour is timeless and the simplicity of life is something to be envied.
Highly recommended - a Christmas highlight and a brilliant gift.
