Product Description

Review
'This is a super production, expanded from the version that appeared in The Sunday Post, with an extra 16 pages. At the cost of GBP4.95 it is a great keepsake and fantastic gift.' - The Sunday Post

Product Description
Robert Burns was born on 25th January, 1759 in Ayr, Scotland. He wrote the famous poems "To a Mouse", "Holy Wullie", "Tam O'Shanter", "Ae Fond Kiss", among many more. His use of the Scots language, his tone and the fact he speaks for 'everyman', and his prolific writing, make Burns enormously popular, with wide international appeal. Endorsed by the Burns Federation, this book is a guide on how to organise your own Burns' Night at home - from the shopping list you must take to buy the necessaries for the plentiful recipes, to 'How to do the Gay Gordons' by Joe, to music and poetry from Burns throughout. The book is illustrated throughout with comic strips from Scotland's first family, "The Broons".

5.0 out of 5 stars Burns for the family, 16 Oct 2008
By A. M. Ide "pedant51" (Glasgow) - See all my reviews

A great guide to how to organise a family Burns Night.

This was originally given out free with The Sunday Post, and it is a tribute to the power of Scotland's first family that it has become neccessary to reissue the booklet to reach a wider audience.

To those who have already purchased Maw Broon's Cookbook or The But and Ben Cookbook, I say, "Go ahead. You won't be disappointed!"

5.0 out of 5 stars The Broons' Burns Night, 12 Mar 2009

This is a fabulous book which I have purchased for friends overseas and in England and I keep being asked for more. It takes a Burns Night novice from start to finish to create their own special Burns Night and the recepies are spot on too. It is a fun book as well as being very informative. The very low cost of the book is an added bonus as I would pay twice as much!
