Product Description

Built for the trail and designed from the gritty, wet and uneven ground up, the cascadia 9 adapts to the surface and your foot.

Product Description

The Brooks Cascadia 9 Trail Running Shoes are designed for long trail runs and keeping your feet comfortable mile after mile of tricky terrain, with adaptive support underfoot and plush cushioning. In an update to the Cascadia line, the 9th model features a lower heel and flat lacing. A lower-to-ground feel and a more secure lacing system allow you to run faster with fewer distractions. The dynamic BioMoGo DNA unit offers improved cushioning with a deluxe feel. The Caterpillar Crash Pad works to offer adaptive cushioning, ensuring you get a smooth and comfortable transition, step after step. The Pivot Post in the forefoot provides 4x4 like suspension, with adaptable support allowing your foot to make even contact with the ground and helps to prevent injury or falling. The Ballistic Rock Shield also serves to protect, keeping out stones, debris and stopping jagged rocks from penetrating the outsole and preventing any injuries.

4.0 out of 5 stars EARLY DOORS 16 May 2014
Colour Name:Anthracite/High Risk Red/Black| Size Name:7.5 UK F|Verified Purchase
Comfortable, good construction, but vulnerable stitching below lacing. Slightly pointy toe box. Only had them 7 days, and as they are a close fit, I am still bedding down with short distances. Laces far to short if you use the top two lace holes both sides, as I do, to maintain good heel contact with counter. If I find a double knot essential I will be up the creek. Low drop, good. Black/red exterior gives relatively low profile, unlike the alternative! In 6 months time we can judge whether the high reputation this shoe has gained up to no 9 is justified. I am looking forward to the testing time ahead with these shoes, by then no 10 may be around.

To Brooks, what about my laces? Or are the last lace holes purely decorative?

4.0 out of 5 stars Good trail shoes 15 May 2014
Colour Name:Anthracite/High Risk Red/Black| Size Name:8.5 UK F|Verified Purchase
I took these out this morning. 9 Miles over the Mendips. Rocky, muddy and hilly. They stood up to this well, I think. These have a lower heel than previous Cascadia, but that is not to the detriment of cushioning. The overall feel is one which is more natural/barefoot than other trainers I've owned, and that is fine if that is what you're going for. I know I found that the natural feel worked really well with difficult "technical" routes, and promoted an efficient gait on the easier stretches. The only issue I have is that we runners tend to get at least half a size up. I did this time, but I don't think it was needed. The sizing with these is pretty much on the nail, so I would buy your normal size. Hope this helps.
