This book serves as a wonderful and much needed expansion to Brooke's garden design book. In this volume he details more of the ingredents that make a good design not only on paper, but also as a finished project. Mr Brookes shares with us what makes his designs work, he juggles and balances the two main aspects of design, hard and soft landscaping, which are so notoriously difficult to balance (we all seem bias to one or the other). Whatever your taste in gardens is, there's something for everyone, experienced or just a beginner.

John Brookes' 'Garden Masterclass' is a pheonomenal book for inspiring ideas for landscape design; there are so many pictures that provide a vast depiction of garden types and styles. I use this book to flip through when I am having trouble coming up with interesting design concepts and almost always find something that sparks my creativity.

This is a good primer on garden design. Insight on how to think about a garden, especially helpful for a novice like me. Lots of good ideas, and things to think about. Highly recommended.
