Book Description

Alaskan fishermen are going missing...

A deaf-mute woman knows more than she will tell...

And the genetically modified seafood we eat is at the root of a conspiracy that will kill us all...

Sterling Strange is a paranormal detective. Along with his partner Nicky Lang, he takes on those cases that other private investigators would balk at. Cases that require thinking outside the box. But when Sterling is sent to to the tiny fishing village of Fair Harbor Alaska, he finds his most peculiar case yet. Fishermen are going missing in Alaskan waters. But before they disappear, the fishermen lose fingers or a toe. Not enough to kill them, but enough to get Sterling wondering. When Sterling asks the locals about the phenomena, he's met with a wall of silence. He also finds a clue -- a clue that leads him to a deaf-mute woman living on an ocean fish farm far up a wilderness inlet. Now, cut off from civilization, Sterling and Nicky find themselves at the center of a genetically modified conspiracy that they'll be lucky to escape with their lives.

BROOD is a 20,000 word mystery-thriller novella that takes the reader on a wild and frightening ride deep into the wilderness where fish are being bred for more than their meat.

It also includes bonus material: an extended excerpt from the author's bestselling, 80,000 word thriller, LETHAL CIRCUIT.

Readers praise LETHAL CIRCUIT:

"Rockin' fast-paced thriller!!! Strap yourself in for a wild ride as backpacker Michael Chase gets caught up in the world of spies and secret agents."

"Couldn't stop reading! From the very first page I was gripped by this novel."

"Breakout novel - twists and turns. Buckle your seat belt and get ready for a trip filled with twists and turns."

LETHAL CIRCUIT is the first in the Michael Chase thriller series. It has been on the Amazon Bestseller Technothriller List since its release.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great read! 19 Jun. 2014

I'm really surprised by the incredibly mixed reviews, people seem to be either giving this 4/5 or 1 stars, apparently you love or hate it, I can gladly say I really enjoyed it. With the huge amount of books to choose from it's easy to read a page or two and skip a book all together. This grabbed me from the start and held my interest until the end. The book was short however this wasn't due to the story (which for me was wrapped up nicely) but due to all of the extra samples of other books at the end which meant I had finished the Brood but had only reached about 60% complete (that may be an exageration, it's been a while since I read this.) As other reviewers have mentioned this really reminds you of the X files and has a really cool, small town setting. It does play into some cliches but for me, welcome ones. I really hope there is more to follow in the Strange investigations series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read 22 Sept. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a hugely enjoyable read, it is well paced with great characters. I think that the characters have the potential to go a long way. This is far from the ordinary private detective story with elements of sci fi and horror make this a work that will satisfy many tastes. I am usually a horror novel reader but this has opened my eyes to a new (to me anyway) author and I will be looking out for more from him.

2.0 out of 5 stars Incomplete 5 Jan. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A fusion of Private Detective novel and the X Files. Heavily influenced by the afore mentioned I thought this story to be cliché ridden with a good smattering of third rate corporate speak thrown in for good measure. Although an imaginative idea it was far to short and lacked a definitive ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not the best book, but far from the worst 8 Dec. 2013

I truly enjoyed Brood.
True it is a little X FILES, but I liked that. True, it is a little too short, but for the price, what is there to complain about. The fact is its fun, and against the amount of pretentious out there give me Lars Guignard any day.

3.0 out of 5 stars Brood 7 Oct. 2013

I downloaded this book onto my Kindle Fire before I went on holiday. It did not take that long to read as it is quite a short book. The storyline was Ok and so was the plot. In my opinion it was an OK read especially for a holiday read.

1.0 out of 5 stars Soul destroying 2 Feb. 2014

What can I say? I have read many free horror kindle books, lots superb like the excellent Ricky Sides with Claws. This however was very badly written and half way through I didn't care how it ended as long as it did.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good read 2 Oct. 2013

First class writing, very gripping story, if a little short, that was hard to put down. Would recommend for a holiday read by the sea. Well defined characters and action throughout. Left me wanting to read more.
