This is simply a fabulous film! Essentially this is a love triangle between three workers at a Washington news station, played by Holly Hunter, William Hurt and Albert Brooks. Without going into plot details, this film stands up to many repeat viewings due to the wonderful script and direction of James L. Brooks - a man who should make far more movies. The dialogue is clever, intelligent and witty, depicting fully rounded characters in very human dilemas. As well as tugging at the heartstrings this film also has some standout comic moments - Joan Cusack's mad dash with the video tape across the station springs immediately to mind. But what brings the entire thing together are career best performances from the main cast - particularly Hunter's, who has never been more funny and charming. At a bargin price buy this movie now!
