4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent guide to contemporary ceramics, 22 Nov 2006
This is a very good book on the history of contemporary (studio) ceramics in Britain. It runs from the 1870's and the foundations of studio pottery through Leach, Hamada, Rie and Coper all the way through to the latest contemporary potters De Waal and Spira and many others. Most potters discussed have pictures of their work included and the quality of these pictures is generally very good. One final nice touch is a list of potters marks at the back. Recommended reading for any one with a passing interest in arts and crafts.
