I must admit I purchase this book each year at about this time. It's a very useful guide to prices of stamps, first day covers and presentation packs. Purchasing this book from Amazon is far cheaper than anywhere else. Always make sure that you buy the latest edition (new ones come about about the end of September each year).

A great book which gives true market values for stamp collection.
A valuable asset in purchasing and valuing additions. Written and laid out
in a sensible manner by people who know the hobby

This book is a must if you are at all interested in buying / selling / collecting British Stamps. It contains far more realistic prices than some of the other reference books which quite often quote highly inflated prices. This book quotes prices that are far closer to what you would expect to pay on eBay, at auctions, from other collectors etc. The only negative comment I have is that not every stamp in a commemorative set is illustrated (unlike competitor version !). However, if you are really into your stamps, you will probably be familiar with all the stamps in the set anyway. Overall, a good book, easy to use, available at a reasonable price.

Has all the information I required and the layout makes it easy to find and understand the pricing. Great value for money and I will not need to update for at least a year whilst I catch up on past gaps in my collection.

OK, this is disappointing on many levels and I struggle to see who it is for, (not me obviously!). If you compare this to a Stoneham or Gibbons catalogue, they illustrate every stamp, in colour, highlighting variants and adding supplementary information so that even if you are not especially interested in a certain group, after dipping into their books for a few minutes you feel as if you have learned something and your time has not been wasted. These two publishers raise the bar with each edition and are a joy to own for GB specialists. This text could have been given away in the January edition of a magazine, but you will be very disappointed in this, each issue has only one colour picture, with prices for the rest, so if you don't KNOW where every stamp printed between 1840 to date fits in a set, well this won't help you. Paper quality is magazine rather than book, Definitives are enlarged and poorly printed so they look grainy, although commemoratives seem to fare better. There are no catalogue numbers, so comparing a decimal Machin with one on sale, is farcical. You would either know your field so well this was useless or you would know so little that this would be useless, and that's ultimately what it is, useless.

This was a birthday present to my husband from the dog. It was delivered promptly and my husband is happy with it. What more can I say.

I gave this book 5 stars because it's worth it, as i think it does what it says on the cover...

Other books are similar to this but, in my humble opinion, not quite as good.

The book is very honest and straight forward and met my expectations totally.

Recommended because it provides realistic values of stamps. O(f course one could automatically reduce a Gibbons valuation and this would save a purchase if you need SG catalogues and numbers
