First of all, I'm writing this review because some idiot has made this box serf look bad by giving it a 2 star review where really, when reading his review, it should've been 3 stars. All of the works in this collection are very finely recorded, as is the norm with Rattle. The Berlin Phil are very good in the Planets and the CBSO outstanding in the other pieces. The good thing about this collection is that it assembles most of the recordings of these pieces that exist (especially the Turnage and Ades, which aren't recorded much). However, as mentioned by the previous reviewer, if 20th century british music doesn't interest you, then don't bother. This collection is essential for anyone who IS interested in discovering it or delving a bit deeper than the basics (such as the Holst). All in all, this is a great collection well worth having.
