I remember hearing a 12" one of my mates brought to my room one day, it was good stuff - it was 'Light Of The World', well that one 12" turned my life around. Now all we can do is dream the dream, times gone by and so many lost 12" and albums.
This album is just great, i still have the original 'Slipstream' [the best of british jazz-funk], all you have to do is put this Cd on and you are taken back to a time when you were surounded by happy smiling faces whenever these tracks were played.
Any Cd with 'Freeez' 'Light Of The World' is just a wonderful thing to have and to hold as try as you might you just can't get hold of Freeez on Cd (i have the first two albums - the best ones) or the first Light Of The World album (i have them all bar the first), what has happened to these classic albums?
This Cd is as a whole, is an eye-opener for the newcomer, and a valuable reference for the enthusiast, and at what can only be described as 'a cheap price'.
Get your 'Pods' outta the cupboard get your 'Cap-T-Shirt' out and your white belt and get down and play it loud.
All you can hope for is that one day the original albums by the artists on here will be released in Cd format - i look forward to that day, but until then i will keep looking in the 'Second Hand Record Shops' who knows one day i might find some of these very soon.
Alas some of the missing gems as follows - 'hipnosis - shaping up', 'inversions - locomoto' & 'morrissey mullen - slipstream' are still to be found in Cd format.
