This book is very good for someone with little or no experience of the history of furniture. It has very clear pictures and an informative, chronologically ordered narrative which is useful for someone like me, who wishes to satisfy a general interest

Excellent pictures, selection reflects the authors interest in the up-market ornate
From the first 2 of these centuries probably all we have access to survives in great houses
The utilitarian elements are the most exciting in the latter 2 centuries
A good book
