A colection of mostly short films made by William Raban but worth watching for the haunting 'Thames Film'(66min). I saw this film on Channel Four originally(when it was a more artistic channel)and was mesmerised. With scenes shot from a low angle boatside as it 'drifts' down the Thames from city to sea & return. John Hurt narrates text from historical sources such as TS Eliot and added visuals of paintings & drawings creating an audio/visual journey through time & geography. This is a Thames with stories seeping through the mist. One minor gripe is the film quality is grainy, but still enjoyable.
The other films in the collection are varied and mostly of interest to auteurs in my opinion.
