EDIT: It turned out to be a defective item. Not only the assistance service was kind, understanding and patient with my noobiness, they sent me a replacement and now I can definitely say it works perfectly. Finally I can listen to Bohemian Rhapsody without losing half of the sound. :)
I would recommend this earbud to anyone who is deaf from one ear or needs to be aware of his surroundings while listening to music.
At first I was very pleased with this product. The sound was pretty good, I could finally listen to music without losing half of the sound since I'm deaf from one ear. But after a week this earphone stopped working properly, with just half of the sound until it even stopped to work at all. I'm very disappointed with its build quality, considering I was very careful when using it.

Just what I needed. I can listen with perfect clarity, without loosing contact with the rest of the world. It does not have that tied up feeling.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great sound for a single bud 16 Oct 2013

Thought the cord was going to be awkward at first, seemed to knot but it soon settled and does seem to be tougher than the normal. One annoying bit is the rubbers earpiece comes off. It just pushes on, so you need to check each time that it is pushed in properly before you pop it in your ear.

4.0 out of 5 stars SSD heaven 14 Oct 2013

Single Sided Deafness (SSD) is a remarkably common condition and for years has been ignored in the personal listening/MP3 world. To an extent this is still the case; the brite bud is designed and marketed at people with full hearing looking to maintain environmental awareness whilst running and working.

That said this is an excellent product for people with SSD who want to use MP3's etc. without losing half the experience.

Why only 4 stars then? Initially I was disappointed with the sound quality; with persistence though I was to discover that the sound quality was in fact excellent. The reason for this is that the earpiece performance is highly dependent on where it sits in your ear, finding the optimum rubber ear tip (note - the best sound might not come from the most comfortable tip) and the player settings. With a lit bit of trial and error you'll find your personal 'sweet spot' and enjoy your music in its complete mono majesty.

If you like your music blasted at you then you may also find this earpiece disappointing. It is definitely aimed at music quality not quantity; but if you only have one working ear, then blasting it with 100dB might not be the best idea.

For anyone who lives with an SSD sufferer try using a brite bud and go about your normal life - you'll get a real insight into the everyday world of someone with SSD and the many small, but annoying, tribulations of the day.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brite Buds
Produce good sound and you are given a reasonable length of cord. My only gripe is that they do not last very long (I have had 2 pack up after a few months use). Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Very short life span. NOT PLEASED.
The wire's reflective covering makes the cable quite stiff. This causes fretting and wear adjacent to the bud, this leads to fracture of internal wiring. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Needs a better plug / cord interface
Great sound but unreliable. Have has 3 of them (bought 2 and one sent as replacement) and all have become disconnected at the plug end after 20-30 hrs use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good - except at very low volume
The sound and build quality is good. The only negative I have (and it is important to me) is when listening at low volume there is quite a lot of background hiss. Read more
