Britax Duo plus car seat can be installed using your car’s Isofix system. When you use this method of installation, you can also add this top tether to give the seat extra stability. The top tether is a belt at the top of the child seat that attaches to anchorage points in the car. It limits the rotational movement of the child seat, reducing the child’s forward movement in the event of an accident. This is part of Britax’s latest safety improvement, the Advanced Isofix system, which has this third anchorage point for further security. All of Britax’s safety technologies work together as part of 360° Protection to minimise injury to the child in a crash. The Top Tether kit is only compatible with the Britax Duo plus Group 1 Car Seat.

When I bought Britax Duo Plus seat, this Top Tether Kit was recommended as an addition by the site. I would of thought that as its supposed to be compatible with the seat that there would be proper seat attachments for the tether. I gave up trying to follow the instructions on how to fix the tether to the seat and sent it back for a refund. The seat seems fine without it when using the ISOFIX connection.
