My jet-setting days long behind me, I now do all my "travelling" courtesy of my recliner chair, a huge wide screen TV and a steady supply of travel dvds from my friends at amazon.
I am enjoying this program immensely. Along with Mr Wilson's company and commentary we meet interesting local characters along the way and are treated to snippets of 1950s period footage, pop songs and British Light Orchestration. All very pleasant and nicely put together. It would be easy to watch the whole 2 dvds in one sitting, but I prefer to spread the pleasure over a week to one drive per day. There are some wonderful picturesque landscapes here, small villages and ruined abbys in the mist... not to mention those great old cars, with which Mr Wilson seems to be having gear-box difficulties from time to time. He stalls the motor now and then and, in one instance, left the driving to a handful of amiable Goths he had just met.
Wonderful stuff and highly recommended.
