1.0 out of 5 stars A total waste, 11 Feb 2007
By D. B. Leavitt - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Britain: A Quick Guide to Customs & Etiquette (Culture Smart! The Essential Guide to Customs & Culture) (Paperback)
One would think that a book with this title would do more than recycle generalizations, but not so. I found it a total waste of money, and the time I took to read it. I don't need this book to know that the currency in the UK is the pound, or that its capital is London, or that office workers will often wish each other "Have a nice weekend" when leaving work on a Friday--all information contained in the book.

Almost any competent guidebook will give you much more information, even if you were to totally ignore its recommendations on places to stay and places to eat. Fodors, Frommers, Lonely Planet, Rought Guide--any of these are much better choices.
