I coveted this item for a while due to the design and colour, to match my kitchen, however I baulked at the annual cost of Brita filters.
Now that I have taken the plunge and ordered and received the jug, I am pleased to note that:
- it is sturdy and well-made,
- it sits comfortably in my fridge door without rattling about, and is easy to place there and to remove
- the handle is easy to grip and carry
- it is very easy to refill thanks to the clever refill spout and lid
- the pouring mechanism works perfectly - no spills.
- it has the familiar refill indicator of a Brita filter which I owned in the distant past (before I got fed up of the cost of those filters...)
All in all, it's a well designed jug in a particularly nice colour, and one which should last me a while.
It would not be appropriate for me to comment on the filtration qualities of this jug, since that would imply doing a review of Brita maxtra filters. I have chosen not to use Brita filters due to the exorbitant price of these, and I instead use an alternative brand filter, which fits this jug.

Bought this water filter since our water was more and more tasting like chlorin and we would start buying bottled water. thought we give water Filter jug a try and the price was good.the water tastes so much better, it's absolutely no comparison to before. even my husband drinks filterd tap water now!!!! glad we made the purchase.

I wanted a water filter, as it was a long overdue must have purchase. Looked around and read all the reviews of different products. Decided on Brita as they are an established name. I loved the bright and cheerfull colour of the jug and although just for asthetic purposes, it is a real pleasure to look at. Been using it ever since I purchased it, and it is easy to use, and in use all the time now. The extended extra year warranty by registering online was a nice touch, although I have to say can't really see, where it could go wrong! Well done Brita a cracking product.

Perfect cuppa at last!
A great product. I live in a very hard water area and this makes all the difference to the taste of both hot and cold drinks. And no more limescale in the kettle!
