Format: Paperback
The best thing about this book is that it has 'Top 5' lists, so that instead of having to plough through the whole thing looking for the best place to take a gang of friends, for instance, or where to go for a bit of celeb-spotting, you can go straight to the details of places that really suit your needs. As well as the old favourites - St Anton, Verbier, Kitzbuhel, etc - there are some resorts that are often overlooked, which means that even seasoned skiers will find this book useful. It's packed with really practical information on getting there, lift passes, hotels and restaurants, which you would expect, but there are tips on safety and buying equipment, too.

This is a one-stop shop book that's gives a great overview to the Top 50 ski resorts. I much prefer this guide to Where to Ski & Snowboard as I find it too negative.I especially recommend to those intermediate to advanced skiers for whom the cheap end of the market resorts just won't do because of the lack of extent.

After purchasing top 50 ski and snowboard resorts in Europe 2008-2009, a lovely book by the same authors, I wanted to purchase an updated

new book for 2013. Imagine my disappointment when I received the same old rehashed information with only the prices of the lift

passes left out, and produced on nasty cheap paper in black and white with no photos.

Yes it was £5.00 cheaper than the first one, but it wasn't worth it.

I was hoping for a nicely illustrated guide with imagery, maps, etc as well as the written text. Be warned - this is not what you get. I have not seen the hard copy version but assume there are images, maps, etc. I have hard copies of the 'Where to Ski and Snowboard' book from previous years which are nicely illustrated to give you a sense of what to expect in each resort. I wish I had simply bought and updated version of that book.
