Product Description

Nobody... should be without your absolutely brilliant guide. --Unsolicited reader: C.W. Bedfordshire.

From the Author

It's been an amazing Harry Potter-inspired year in the life of Orlando, and now we have even more to tell readers about for 2011. Universal's incredible creation of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in their Islands of Adventure theme park has raised the fun and excitement to new levels in our Central Florida 'home', and it serves to highlight even more the importance of a good guide before you travel.

Orlando is such a complex and demanding destination, you simply can't just turn up and make-it-up-as-you-go-along; you need a Plan to deal with all the many and varied delights in store, and the Brit Guide will give you everything you need for your own Plan. We have been working here for more than 20 years and living here for almost 10, hence we are perfectly placed to offer the best advice for how to do as much of it as possible, and live to tell the story! Be ready for a fabulous, family-orientated experience, but just be aware of the enormous scope and scale of the place - and the huge demands it will put on your time/wallet/sanity!

Stick with us and you can be sure you will:

* Get the most for your money without breaking the bank
* Find the best ways to beat the queues and confusion
* Drive, shop and be safe in Orlando
* See the REAL Florida, not just the tourist version
* And have more fun than you ever thought possible.

It's all waiting inside the pages of our 2011 edition - just pull up a good chair and come on in!

4.0 out of 5 stars Make the most of your time in Orlando 6 Dec 2010
The first time you go to Orlando, if you don't know what to expect you will be completely overwhelmed; you'll come back tired, broke - and probably frustrated that you've missed some of the best bits. This guide is a brilliant help when it comes to planning your trip, so that you can really make the most of every moment. It shows you how to prioritise, how to plan each day so that you miss the biggest crowds and is full of tips to make your dollars go further. It also makes suggestions on what to miss out, if you're short of time, and stresses the value of taking some time simply to chill out by the pool. It is supposed to be a holiday, after all! A really comprehensive book, particularly for first-time visitors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I wanted! 17 Jan 2011
I bought this book because it looked like the most up to date and thorough book available on Orlando - I wasn't wrong! The book is packed full of information and useful tips and even takes you on a walk through the parks and tells you the best strategies for minimal queuing.

The things I like the most about this book are the descriptions of the rides and that they give them ratings so you know if they're unmissable or just for the kiddies. I also like the tone of the writing, which is unbiased and British (i.e. not over the top cheesy Disney-orientated American!)

I went out to buy my friend who I'm going on holiday with a birthday present and intended on buying her a different book so we could swap but I found all the other Orlando books disappointing as they didn't include more than a couple of lines about Harry Potter (or were so out of date they didn't include it at all!) so I've ordered another copy of this book to give to her!

If you're going to Orlando and looking for a guidebook then look no further!

4.0 out of 5 stars The definitive guide to Orlando and WDW 28 Dec 2010
I have a number of copies of this book and while much is similar the yearly updates keep it fresh and a well worth companion for your planning and visit. Despite being a Florida 'veteran' the information in the Brits Guide adds to our trip and for us it is very useful for the non-theme park aspects from entertainment, dining and further afield.

For any people planning their first visit to the Land of the Mouse, this is the definitive book for Brits and contains all you will need to ensure you have a very happy holiday.

This book is packed with useful information. I suppose proof of the pudding will come when we actually go to Florida late next year but it has already helped greatly in our choice of location and advance tickets.

I have already highlighted the best tips, and will be taking this book with me to orlando. There is everythink from what rides to go on first at certain parks, to the best places to stay. As we are none drivers gave us a brilliant tip to use lynx buses. Glad to say have already brought bus passes on the internet, and the kids eat free card is going to save us lots of dollars. would recommend this book to every one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutley great book. 13 May 2011
By Lesley
This book was invaluable. My whole family laughed at me and said I was getting obsessed by it. However it certainly worked when planning our days with my grandchildren.

What it doesn't do is tell you the times and days of the shows because they change. It also doesn't tell you which nights are late nights as they change. I recommend you check this out before planning your days. Especially if you are using the hopper ticket.

I would recommend any Brit travelling to Orlando with their families to purchase the book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good guide, shame about the maps
This is a good guide let down badly by the quality of the maps. These are too low resolution to be of any use. The cost o the Kindle edition seems inflated as a result.
