I got this to expand what we could do with our existing brio, my boy always seems to enjoy train track more when playing with someone else's set, so I thought maybe he couldn't do enough with the set he has. Turns out that is just the way children are - he can play with his cousin's train set for hours but get it out at home and within minutes he's doing something else. Anyway, the thing I would say is be aware the red plastic only sits on the wood thanks to gravity, so the two are likely to part company in the toy box. No damage done, you only have to sit it back on top and away you go.
