5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent game 12 May 2012

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
If you've seen any of those old films featuring Vincent Price as a cultured but deranged man who is seeking revenge on those who wronged him, then you'll be on familiar ground here.
You play the part of Sam, a reporter who has written an article about a serial killer, and whose girlfriend has now been kidnapped by the killer. You set out to rescue her - and to escape yourself - by playing the games that the killer has laid out for you in his creepy old mansion, which is dotted with the embalmed corpses of his previous victims.
The graphics are excellent, and the gameplay highly absorbing. It follows the traditional style of finding objects necessary to progress in the game, which are either contained in hidden object screens, lying around in the locations, or must be won by solving puzzles. It's mainly a matter of observation; the puzzles are mainly not too difficult, though a few of them will require a bit of time and thought.
Though I didn't time myself, I spent a couple of days playing the game, probably amounting to at least eight hours' play. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good game but some maddening puzzles. 20 Aug 2012

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Enjoyed this game although it did get a bit tedious at times. Usual thing whereby forever having to find an item to progress and go back and forth through the levels. I found it a bit confusing remembering where I was but the map was invaluable. I had to resort to the guide a number of times and I don't think I could have completed the game without it as som of the puzzles were challenging and not entirely clear. Graphics good and story fine although I tend to skip them all and get on with the game. One gripe I had - the game does not load onto computer, you have to run it from the disc every time and it is quite slow to load. Kept me amused for a few hours and I would recommend it for anyone who likes this sort of thing.
