Book Description

In the third book of The End series, Joshua Jordan remains in Israel during his self-imposed “exile” out of the reach of U.S. authorities who have trumped-up false criminal treason charges against him. His wife, Abigail, continues to lead the Roundtable to prove the innocence of her husband.

Following the nuclear attack by Russia, Israel is cleaning up the bodies of dead enemy soldiers for 7 months and setting out on its 7 year plan—both per the prophecies in Ezekiel.  As corruption in high government offices threaten to block the election of a worthy presidential candidate by all means necessary—including the unthinkable—Israel’s leadership is tempted to sign a “peace” proposal initiated by the UN under the authority of Coliquin. After he discusses this plan with Pastor Peter Campbell, Joshua is convinced Coliquin may well be the prophesied Anti-Christ and that his peace plan is a trap to destroy Israel.

Are the recurring dreams Joshua has had about the coming rapture from God. And is the end sooner than anyone expects?

5.0 out of 5 stars Very thought provoking !! 3 Dec. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Have just started reading this, having read part one some time ago,and to coin a corny old phrase, cant put it down. I will certainly read the next volume as soon as. I'm not much into giving detailed reviews, but suffice to say,if this series,by Tim Lahaye does'nt make you stop and think about our world ,and the troubles in the middle east, then nothing will.Having said that ,an excellent read, and well worth 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Biological Weapons, A Global Threat = Suspense Thriller 13 Oct. 2012
By VicG - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Tim LaHaye & Craig Parshall in their new book, "Brink of Chaos" Book Three in The End series published by Zondervan brings us back into the life of Joshua Jordan.

From the back cover: In the third book of The End series, Joshua Jordan remains in Israel during his self-imposed `exile' out of the reach of U.S. authorities who have trumped-up false criminal treason charges against him. His wife, Abigail, continues to lead the Roundtable to prove the innocence of her husband. Following the nuclear attack by Russia, Israel is cleaning up the bodies of dead enemy soldiers for 7 months and setting out on its 7 year plan--both per the prophecies in Ezekiel. As corruption in high government offices threaten to block the election of a worthy presidential candidate by all means necessary--including the unthinkable--Israel's leadership is tempted to sign a `peace' proposal initiated by the UN under the authority of Coliquin.

Political upheaval, biological weapons and a global threat are just some of the ingredients that are the recipe for "Brink of Chaos". You know what that means, right? Yes, Joshua Jordan is back in "Brink of Chaos" and this book is even more of a thriller than the first two books combined. Tim LaHaye and Craig Parshall have given us a roller coaster ride of suspense, danger, adventure and politics that will keep you flipping pages as fast as you can read them. Unlike a previous series by Dr. LaHaye this series is set not to far from where we are today. Dr. LaHaye is using Bible prophecy to show how close we are to what the Bible tells us will happen.

Craig Parshall, known for his legal fiction, has written a page turning, heart-thumping thriller with careful attention to the state of the world right now and how the Bible says we will turn out. Many of the "things" that are mentioned in the book are in place right now and in use, even though most of us are not aware of them. Dr. LaHaye and Craig Parshall have one agenda in mind and that is the salvation of many through this work of fiction. Their zeal is that many will have their eyes open to the state of our world and see that much of where we are currently and where we are poised to go the Bible has already warned us of and that we would understand our need for a savior. They do a truly remarkable job in this book while exciting us with this story that everyone will enjoy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Brink of Chaos 3 Oct. 2012
By lighthouse88 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Brink of Chaos is a well-written novel filled with action as well as suspense. There are characters who are protagonists, but not all are believers in Jesus Christ as the Messiah. Antagonists are present as well, but are not necessarily opposed to the Messiah coming again. In the story, as in real life, some of the characters represent seekers, others represent doubters, and some want proof before they believe. It was somewhat eerie reading this as a novel because the political, economic, and spiritual climate portrayed is somewhat a mirror of how life is today.
This is the third and most likely the last installment in this series entitled "The End". There are previous installments that a reader might want to read before reading Brink of Chaos. The theme of Christ's second return is most prominent as the different plots are all aligning to converge on that occurrence. Author Tim LaHaye places weight upon another theme running through the story, which is the event known as the rapture. I personally don't hold to this belief of the believers escaping the Tribulation, but the novels are enjoyable nonetheless.
The Jordan family is prominent in this book as they are in the first two novels. Joshua is a former Air Force pilot who happens to also have exceptional engineering knowledge which he uses to protect America from her enemies. The group which Joshua and his wife Abigail have started is called the Roundtable and is instrumental in a host of ways in the fight against evil.
Abigail was a lawyer who had spent more time until recently working with the Roundtable, but now finds herself thrust center stage in the fight. What areas does she fight in? Be careful not to assume before reading the book! Abigail is a strong believer who is vocal and active in presenting the gospel of Christ to whomever she crosses paths with. Her other love, of course, is her husband Joshua and two grown children.
There is corruption deep within the framework of the government in the United States. Just how far will someone go to attain power anyway? The current President is sidelined due to his health so the Vice President is sworn in. As far as society knows it is all clean and part of what occurs, but is it really and who is behind all of it anyway?
The action, murder, intrigue, and more take the characters, and therefore the reader too, to various places around the globe. Israel wants to keep Joshua Jordan safe and use his RTs, return to sender, system to help avoid nuclear missiles from exploding and killing the innocent. America wants to try Jordan for treason because of allegations that he wants to usurp the government. The various enemies of God and His followers try to short circuit anyone's attempt to uncover and expose the deception.
As an avid reader I can tell you this is a novel that is worth taking the time to read and enjoy. It is captivating. Only one chapter towards the end of the novel was not believable or even necessary to the story. Enclosed between the covers of this novel is a good story. Just remember it is fiction and not the Bible or the infallible Word of God.

I am a fan of Tim LaHaye and I enjoyed this book. If I wasn't' already a Christian, I would turn my life over to Christ after reading his books.
