Fifi Bergere says:
I read through this in one sitting and would like to share it with others out there looking for a humorous page turner.

It's the autobiography of a London market trader who pairs up with a dodgy business partner and they become large scale importers from India.

The author has a wonderfully wry sense of humour even in the darkest moments. The descriptions of India and its people are hilarious but so full of affection.

Unfortunately things go from bad to worse with the business partner leaving Frank fearing for his life.

I'd love to hear other people's views on this book which I enjoyed so much.

Thanks so much, ms Bergere, 'Rupees' is dedicated to my Hungarian mother, who sadly died on my wedding day. The book is as much about her - and about the terrible fallout resulting from her death - as it is about making dosh in India. Though the latter theme still makes me smile - nobody in their right minds would do business in India!
