This review is from: Brilliant Secondary School Teacher: What You Need to Know to be a Truly Outstanding Teacher (Brilliant Teacher) (Paperback)
This is an excellent book for teachers or indeed anybody with an interest in education. It is full of ideas and strategies and should be compulsory reading 10/10.

5.0 out of 5 stars It should be the compulsory reading book for all ITT and new teachers; old hands will love it too., 4 May 2011
This review is from: Brilliant Secondary School Teacher: What You Need to Know to be a Truly Outstanding Teacher (Brilliant Teacher) (Paperback)
At last a book on teaching that is written by teachers, for teachers, and in a language that is accessible and pretty much jargon free. The only jargon used is that which helps clarify certain areas of school life that new and beginning teachers will come across and maybe unsure of. It is also a book that a parent could read and know why their child likes a teacher so much and why they are doing so well under their guidance. As a member of SLT at a secondary school this book will provide inspiration for many internal inset sessions will allow guidance to be given to 'satisfactory' teachers and help refresh those of us a little longer in the tooth. Written by two teachers with a passion for a profession that needs passion for it to work and inspire the next generation. All teacher training institutions should have this as pre-course reading, schools should have at least two copies for staff to access.......informative not patronising...keeping it simple, the Haynes manual for teachers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ruputation, 13 Oct 2011
This review is from: Brilliant Secondary School Teacher: What You Need to Know to be a Truly Outstanding Teacher (Brilliant Teacher) (Paperback)
I haven't read this book, but i was taught by both authors and they were the two best teachers I ever had. They were absolutely phenomenal. If their book allows other people to be half as good as they were then it is well worth the read!
