Product Description

Marketing. Everyone knows it’s really hard to do well and marketers have never been under so much pressure. More questions are being asked about value and effectiveness than ever before. We live in a world of turbulence and flux. This book gives you the tools and the motivation to deal with this change and to go out and be described as a brilliant marketer.

Brilliant Marketing answers key questions such as:

• What is a brand? What is marketing and how is it changing? What is good, what is poor, what is brilliant?

• How can I be creative enough to stand out? Creative like the Google logo. Creative like Cadbury’s Gorilla.

• How do I write and manage a marketing plan?

From the Back Cover

Seduction is about making people love you. So is marketing.

You can’t seduce someone if they don’t know you exist; if you don’t engage them and if they don’t appreciate you have something they want.

Brilliant Marketing is your seduction toolkit. You’ll find the skills, examples and attitudes to carry out the most alluring campaigns around.

Brilliant outcomes:

  • Understand the ideas, actions, campaigns that make a real difference.
  • Get a complete marketing skill-set to seduce and inspire.
  • Be a master of strategy – from thinking to planning to execution.

Drink in the energy and wisdom of this book...then read it again – it’s not about processes and procedures – it’s actually about you!

Rupert Maitland-Titterton, Head of Public Affairs, Nestlé UK Ltd

Brilliant Marketing will transform your understanding of the marketing mix – essential reading.

Too much glitz 14 Oct 2010
By Paul
Format:Paperback
If you want a book that tells you how great marketing is as a profession and a lot about branding for big multi-national companies, then this is the book for you. I bought several books on marketing to help me in a new job developing business for a small company. Brilliant Marketing did not fit the bill for my purposes. I found the first half of the book involved a lot of generic 'bigging up' the marketing industry. The second half had some more useful tips on formulating and executing a marketing plan. I must say, I do not like his style of writing too much. Overall, I found the book by Dee Blick 'Powerful Marketing on a Shoestring Budget' much more targeted and relevant for my purposes.

great insight 2 Feb 2010
Format:Paperback
I'm starting my own business, but do have some prior marketing experience. This book was really excellent - a real A-Z which would help someone new and also an experienced person (a difficult feat to achieve both!). Great bedtime reading

I really wish Richard Hall had been writing his books 30 years ago when I was first studying marketing. Back then I was issued with a book called `Marketing made simple'; it wasn't particularly simple, it was a hard slog and completely un-memorable. Hall's new book, by comparison could be called `Marketing made human' because it draws you in and brings all the principles alive with compelling stories told in a truly engaging tone.

Two further aspects make this book stand out. First, it is about the most `complete' book on marketing you are likely to find - there can be very few people with such comprehensive knowledge. Second, while Hall's vast experience shows through on every page, it is equally balanced with a real hunger for knowledge on what is happening now and what is likely to be coming next. Again, it's rare to get both sides from the same writer.
