5.0 out of 5 stars Well structured and some great ideas 12 Sep 2011
By arunmuk
The book is well structured, does not waffle and contains some ideas that I immediately put into practise. Unlike some other management books it is an easy read and clearly layed out.

5.0 out of 5 stars A practical flowing management title 12 Aug 2011
This book provides the rare combination of a well-written and easy to read management text with useful and practical suggestions.
The book suggests that it is read cover to cover rather than a reference (and it is written in such a way that this is easy to do) but I certainly find that there are sections that can easily be used in isolation or re-read as refreshers.
Sections on "recruiting the best" and "coaching and development" are certainly sections that can change perspective and concentrate the mind when performing those tasks.
In addition the section on communication emphasizes just how important this is as a leader and gives good advice as to how to ensure you get this right.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Leader 21 July 2011
This is a concise and easy-to-read, common-sense book with lots of practical advice that can easily be put into action. Although Simon recommends
that it should be read from cover to cover, I find myself dipping in to it on a regular basis, eg when preparing for team meetings or 1:1s with my
staff. There is stuff here about delegating, coaching and development, managing change, important skills which we all need to have as managers and
leaders to do our jobs effectively. I recommend this book; it is a Pandora's box of must-do and must-have leadership behaviours and techniques.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Leader 19 July 2011

Very often we face the challenge of management or leadership with little knowledge of the skills required to be truly successful. I found this book to be an excellent resource of practical tools and techniques that you can use and apply every day.
