By JAS
Format:Paperback
There are a lot of books aimed at this sector of the market but this one seems to cover most of the basics that a beginner needs. It has the advantage of having separate editions for XP, Vista, and Windows 7, so you are not confused by any information that is not applicable to your particular version of Windows. It also usefully covers Microsoft Word which is often already Brilliant Computing for the Over 50s Windows 7 Editionloaded on new computers.
On the minus side, there is no index, so it does not double up as a reference book. Also, although it mentions Wordpad as an alternative to Word, it omits to mention the much more useful (and free) Open Office. Hence I give it 4 stars and not 5.
