Product Description

Product Description

The coaching profession continues to grow, and is estimated to generate around £750million globally, (per annum). the current shift sees organisations wanting to harness coaching less from external coaches and more from within. ‘Managers who coach’ are more desirable than those who simply ‘manage’. Coaching is becoming a core management skill, both as a solution to current operational issues and a way to reach future commercial goals.

For the busy manager, coaching needs to be both practical and accessible. Brilliant Coaching presents key information, explanations and guidance in an appealing, user friendly format, allaying any fears that coaching is difficult or complex. Using fresh perspectives and expert insight, you are encouraged to try new responses to old issues, increasing your self-awareness. By refocusing on what you typically do, you’ll notice the ‘bad habits’ you might have. Simple principles will be used to achieve this, creating a shift in perspective that helps the manager to act differently.

The impact of the book is simple, managers will get the information they need to ‘stop controlling and start coaching’.

Simply great advice 9 Nov 2010
By Marcel TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This a very straightforward, easy to read and understand book. No fancy tricks, just simple well structured advice. The key facets presented are: Building Rapport; Focused Listening; Effective Questioning; and Constructive Feedback. If you are in management at all you already know most things covered in this book, but it's presented in such a way to help you apply it well and far more consistently.

We can all be guilty of 'solutionising'; however, if you want to empower your team and build 'strength-in-depth', then this book will be the reminder you need to give people the space they need and help them take ownership of the problem and solution. Many useful, lightweight examples are given to expand on the points.

A really good book and well worth the time (and money) to read.

A great help 29 April 2009
Format:Paperback
This is an exteemely useful addition to my book collection. It is full of practical guidance. Short on theory and big on useful tips told in a clean and clear style.

There are many fictional yet realistic scenarios which are explored, which proved particularly useful due to their matching real life corporate coaching dilemas.

All in all a book that can be referred to over an over again and one which I thoroughly recommend.
