This book provides a fascinating insight into how to prepare a CV that will get you shortlisted for a job. Cutting through redundant psychological theory, Jim Bright and Joanne Earl give practical advice on how to get the most out of a CV. Through anecdotes and sample CVs (both good and bad)the authors manage to inject considerable humour into what could be a dull subject.

Good advice 6 Nov 2009
Format:Paperback
I had not written a CV in quite some time and I looked at quite a few books before choosing this one. I liked this one as it is well laid out. The information is clearly signposted, which allowed me to flick through it very quickly to glean what I needed. It provided me with a good reminder of the essentials required for writing a good CV and I'm getting a good hit rate so far.

The book also contains plenty of examples and templates for readers to create their own perosnalised CV.

I just wanted to tell people how much of a difference it made to read this book and update my CV. Before this book I had maybe 3 calls a week from recruiters if I were lucky. I had 1 interview in a month.

I received the book on Saturday, read it and started updating my CV in the weekend. Applied for a job on Monday and got a job offer Tuesday! Also I received 6 called in 2 days from recruiters wanting to send my CV to employers or just contacting me about general inquiries.

See that is a major improvement and I would have wished that I had seen/discovered this book a month ago!

Best of luck to all you job hunters and hope this book helps you like it did me!
