Product Description

From the Author

We are Joanne Morley and Siobhan Lees, co-directors of Brighter Marketing, a company we established in 2002 to provide marketing help, support and guidance through a unique coaching-based approach that helps our clients improve their businesses through effective marketing.

If you are looking for SWOTs, PESTLE analysis and Boston Consulting matrices, you won't find them in The Brighter Marketing Bible for Small Businesses - just real-life marketing ideas, tips and guidance that will get results. What's more you can get completely free marketing tips from our marketing blog and from marketing articles on the Brighter Marketing website

Before we set up Brighter Marketing, we worked in senior sales and marketing roles in a range of businessto-business (B2B) companies, some large, some small. These companies had one thing in common: much of their success was due to effective marketing that had to deliver results. Working in high-pressure environments meant we had to devise marketing campaigns that worked and delivered high-quality sales leads on a regular basis. And, for a number of years, that's what we both did - we set up marketing systems that provided consistent enquiries that ultimately led to sales revenue.

We have been in your situation. We have had our backs against the wall and had to create effective marketing programmes. We have felt the pressure, we understand what it's like. But we also know it doesn't have to be like that. Time has been a great teacher for both of us and, if we had only known then what we know now, perhaps we wouldn't have needed that towel to continually wipe the sweat from our brow.

This book has been written to help you reduce your stress levels and to save you the time and money you may currently be ploughing into marketing that doesn't seem to work, no matter how much you put in. Its goal is to give you the knowledge and tools you need to develop a highly effective marketing approach that can help you achieve the results you want from marketing.

About the Author

Siobhan Lees and Joanne Morley have over 40 years marketing and sales expertise, gained in a range of business to business organisations. They know what works and more importantly what doesn't. They set up Brighter Marketing in 2002 to provide marketing help, support and guidance using a unique coaching-based approach for improving businesses through effective marketing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Clear and concise! 21 Jan 2009
Format:Paperback
Clear, concise and informative, this book covers all the questions you might have about how to be an effective B2B marketer - and gives many of the answers.
What I particularly like about it is the fact that it encourages you to think about what you're actually selling and who your target audience is. It also suggests you put yourself in your client's shoes to find out what could drive them to buy from you.
There are many useful suggestions, tools and templates to get you started.
For someone who hasn't got a clue about how to attract people to my website, I found the section on search engine optimisation very interesting.
A minor gripe: I would have liked an index at the back as this is the kind of book you will dip into every now and again rather than read from beginning to end.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect timing 22 Dec 2008
Format:Paperback
We , in common with many other small businesses , are facing challenging times at the moment and only the fittest and luckiest will survive.

There is always a temptation during recessionary times to stop spending on everything that is viewed as non essential and everything becomes very "short term".

Selling your own services to your clients and potentiel clients is often perceived as being too medium term during these unprecedented trading conditions and this activity tends to slow at precisely the very time when it should be increasing !

By using this new book , which is for a healthy change very accessable ,we can continue to market our business through this difficult period for under £20 , which cant be bad !

I dont normally read this sort of thing but am glad I made an exception in this case !
