This book is a testament to the philosophy that the simplest things are usually the best. Dr. Stamm presents her findings in a easy to read, but educational way. You are never too bogged down with the science, but still presented with enough background to understand where the information is coming from. The personal anecdotes also help to create more of a story, making the book very easy to read. Much of the information may seem simple and obvious, but as new parents, many people miss this. Stimulating, but not overstimulating; Don't believe every study that comes out; pay attention to what your baby is telling you. It all sounds very simple, but are things that can easily be forgotten in the moment. I found the book very helpful in understanding the brain development and also what I can do to ensure my baby has the best possible start. I would recommend this to anyone that is about to or already has small children.
