What does this mean?
Just as it is important to select the right boots or shoes for your chosen activity, it is just as important to have the right fitting socks. Your boots are only as good as the socks inside them!
Clearly selecting the correct size of sock is the first consideration. It is also important to consider which boots or shoes you will be wearing the socks with to ensure you avoid too much material inside the boot or shoe making the boot fit too tightly.
Bridgedale uses Lycra® in specific zones of the sock to make sure the sock stays fitted mile after mile. The additional Lycra® is knitted to the under arch and above the heel to prevent the sock slipping down while in use. Lycra® is also used in the cuff of the sock to help the cuff stay up.
The way Bridgedale uses Lycra® means that the perfect fit you enjoy on the first time of wear lasts time and time again.So when other, less technical socks have become baggy and lost their shape, Bridgedale socks will retain their original shape and be as comfortable as the first time you put them on! Women’s Fitting Socks
Bridgedale’s hugely popular Women’s range of socks are not just alternative colours of the standard range. Women typically have a higher instep, narrower heel and lower volume foot than men. To significantly improve the design and fit of our Women’s socks we have made our Women’s socks lower volume, to improve the fit around the heel, instep and general width.
A lower volume sock is slightly narrower in all areas than the standard fit sock. This results in a superb fit mile after mile.
WoolFusion® Technology
WoolFusion® is our unique technology that sets Bridgedale apart from other sock brands. Bridgedales WoolFusion® technology combines the highest quality natural yarns; Merino wool or Tough wool, and fuses them with high performance microfibres; Coolmax® or Endurofil™.

These are my second pair of Bridgedale socks and I just love them. They have been an essential part of my wardrobe this winter for confort and warmth. You do not need to be a massive fan of outdoor sports to need a pair of these, you just need to want the best socks for your feet.

These socks are great. Warm and cushioned underfoot, without being bulky. I have not worn them trekking yet, though I intend to; I just bought them to keep my feet warm in the depths of winter. They do this. I am seriously impressed.
My feet have not got sweaty either, the wicking system really works for me. I was sceptical about it because I've bought other woollen socks with the "Coolmax" system" of wicking before, and found my feet always clammy.
I now understand why Bridgedale have such a good rep, and would not hesitate to recommend them to others. The blue ones look good, too, without taking up tons of room when packing.

good socks make such a difference on along walk/hike, I think they are as important as good shoes and these are great socks - kept my feet warm and dry.

Warm, cosy and a lovely fit

Good fit

bridgedale socks
the socks are great but unfortunately the size is not what it was described as and so I had to give them to someone else.
