4.0 out of 5 stars A BID FOR THE MAINSTREAM 28 Mar 2014
By HAYLING BOOK & MUSIC VENUE (HBMV) TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD
Virgin records threw a lot of money at this album which achieved success on the MTV charts and the rock charts.

It is a commercial and crisp album produced by Don Was, focussing primarily on the subject of urban decay. It has some strong, catchy material which warranted a number of individual single releases from the album.

Brick by Brick is not Iggy's strongest album but it is a good listen and arguably one of his better albums of the era.

3.0 out of 5 stars Rock is well and alive in 1990! 19 Feb 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
A very rock & roll album, with Slash and Duff McKagan, guitarist and bassist of the Guns'n'roses at the time at the height of their fame. It's warmer and has more melodies than previous I. Pop albums. A great return to form and an album that swings!

2.0 out of 5 stars For nostalgia purposes and a few good tracks 4 Jan 2014

I owned this disc years ago and was feeling nostalgic about it, so I repurchased it. There are a couple obvious attempts by Iggy to have a top 40 hit that sound embarrassing now, and it makes it difficult to listen to the disc all the way through. It just doesn't hold up as well as some of his other material, so don't make this one of your first Iggy Pop purchases.
