Rockabilly / Big Band Rock'n'Roll!!! This live concert from Japan has got everything you need to be dancing the night away in the late hours, or even smooching with the lights out. In this DVD you have old time classics such as, In the Mood, Pensylvannia 6-500, Jump Jive and Wail, etc and most importantly the great Brian Setzers Hot Rod fuelled masterpieces. The guy has won three grammies, and he does not dissapoint. It is a big gig in Tokyo, with an impressive stage set up. A particular highlight would be Jump Jive 'n' Wail, with all the trumpets, saxes and bones doing different synchronised moves, the two chicks (very nice!!) got a little dance, and the drummer and upright bassist have got their own thing going, all behind a larger than life Brian Setzer. WOW!!!!

I've been lucky enough to see Brian three times with the Stray Cats, twice with the Orchestra and most recently with the '68 Come Back Special. Every time he has delivered a knock out performance. This film comes as near as any film can, to catching the man who should be the biggest star in the world, rocking it up.

As with the sadly deleted but equally recommended Stray Cats "Rock Tokyo" video, this is filmed before a capacity Japanese crowd; indeed, even as I write Brian's latest single "Sexy Sexy" is #14 in the Japaese charts, and climbing...

From the time that the Orchestra kick off with Hawaii Five-O, the house is rocking. Brian as ever excels on his Gretsch (plural!) but never takes over from the band, as they rock through songs mainly from "Dirty Boogie" and "Va-Voom". Stray Cats faves "Rock this town", "Stray cat strut" and "Gene & Eddie" get an airing, as does the Elvis styled "Mystery train" (which of course the Cats recorded on "Choo Choo Hot Fish").

Brian's three Grammy winners are featured - "Jump jive 'n' wail", "Sleepwalk" and "Caravan", as well as most surprisingly the hoary old musical standard "Get me to the church on time" from "My Fair Lady", for which Brian forsakes his guitar.

Why Brian simply isn't a bigger star the world over, is beyond me; forget any misconceptions about this being old music, it rocks, swings, and everyone is having a ball.

Buy it, play it loud, get the neighbours round, roll up the carpets and dance.
