Brian Lux was born in Derby, and qualified as a dental surgeon at Guy's Hospital Dental School. After serving in the RAF as a dentist, he spent his professional life in General Practice, serving on the General Dental Council for 25 years, and was awarded the Fellowship of the Pierre Fauchard Academy in 2000 for work with addicted coleagues. He was President (twice) of the Dental Practitioners Association.
Now retired,he has many interests. These include sailing,taking part in the Clipper 98 RTW race An amateur boxer, he became a qualified ABA Coach, and co-founded Sale West ABC 28 years ago. Their notable protegee is Ricky Hatton.He still enjoys road racing raising funds for worthy charities. His first published children's book came late in life, and with his second, has opened a new life visiting schools and doing workshops with the pupils. 'Their enthusiastic response makes being a children's author an honour and a delight.' Brian says.
