Product Description

The Breville VTT205 two slot two slice polished stainless steel toaster is a sleek and smart addition to any kitchen boasting a number of helpful features. It has a chrome-plated variable browning control which allows you to choose how dark or light you like your toast and variable width slots allowing breads of various thicknesses to be fully toasted. So whether it's a small slice or something a bit bulkier--all sizes are properly accommodated. Features include a reheat button which brings cooled toast back up to temperature without burning it; a defrost button which automatically lengthens the toasting time to allow for the defrosting of frozen bread and a mid-cycle cancel button allowing you to stop the toasting process as and when you want to. Remove smaller items without burning your fingers thanks to the extra-high lift which raises the bread carriage for easier access. And keep crumb mess to a minimum with the removable crumb tray which collects any crumbs that may fall from the bread as you toast it. The VTT205 is also fitted with illuminated blue buttons for easy use, stylish sloped breading slots, cord storage and a non-slip base.

what a bargain!
it performs extremely well - toast is browned evenly on both sides and although it still doesnt take the bread slices from my panasonic breadmaker if i cut them in half it works fine so that is a mere quibble. the toast is crunchy on the outside and soft inside just how i like it.
it looks good and fits well in my stainless steel kitchen and feels a solid piece of kit. actually looks as good as toasters costing 3 times as much and performs just as well
love the controls -the cancel button is a very useful addition i havent seen on other toasters.
im very fussy about my equipment if it doesnt come up to scratch i complain and i can honestly say im really glad i bought this

The toaster's controls are easy to use and it browns evenly. The only complaint I have is that if you use it twice in a row without letting it cool down it gives off an unpleasant smell of hot plastic.

Does what you would expect from a toaster. Has a handy cancel button incase you set the browning control too high, the toast just pops up.

The toaster is a nice colour and looks quite classy.

Good value - attractive product apart from the push-down control wich looks cheap. Apart from that I am very pleased with this toaster as the toast is always just right. Defrost option is very useful too.

MY EXPERIENCE
------------------------

THE LOOK

I bought Breville VTT205 toaster online, so saw it just in a picture. And it really looked good: polished stainless steel finish, illuminated buttons and stylish design. So when I finally received our toaster, I opened the box and found it very well and safely packed. Actually I was a little bit disappointed with this Breville toaster because it was so big and bulky... It takes a lot of surface space... Otherwise it looked great and well built - just like in a picture.
But there is one thing that I like about this toaster - the top of it - it is not horizontal but oblique so looks nice and stylish near the wall.

TOASTING

Browning:
I don't know if all Breville toasters work like ours, but our toasts are never browned evenly...One side and top of bread is always much whiter.

I was surprised how big the toaster is when I received it. However,it looks as good as on the picture. The green colouring of the sides, lever and control buttons are misleading as it hasn't got the green sides that it appeared on the picture, in fact the sides, lever and touch buttons are charcoal in colour. The slots are generous but you still need to turn the breads upside down once more to toast in order to achieve evenness and lookability especially the slots are in gradient which is a styling point. The only downside is the lead, I do understand one do not want an excessive amount of spare cable on the worktop, an extra 10cm will do no harm if you have wall cabinet above.

Nice toaster - looks green in the picture, but rest assured it isn't! Attractive design with easy to use buttons - feels nice and solid, not plastic. Not the most complex of toasters - but hey, all I want it for is to make a slice of toast - and it does. Easy to get bread in and out - reasonable width of bread fits in - even toasting. My only slight dislike of it is that it doesn't have a button for reheating. If the toast isn't quite cooked as much as you'd like it you and you pop it back in, it's easy to forget and end up with a burnt offering - but it does have a useful cancel button for those times when you do remember what your doing. It's a small gripe and I'd still recommend the toaster - if you want something that looks nice and don't need lots of fancy buttons then it's not a bad choice. I wouldn't recommend purchasing it at full price - I think it's a bit expensive for what you get - but if it's reduced to half price then it's not a bad deal at all.

Update - three years on and it's still working just as well as when I got it. Not a bad toaster at all.

Finally a toaster that can fit bagels and all sizes of bread, and has a high lift feature which helps get them out. Toaster looks good and does what its meant to.
