makes great toasties, and good for thicker breads/paninis etc. also good for making bruschetta. works a treat
but the handle on this broke within a week of buying. breville were less than helpful in sorting this, and not impressed by their customer services. that's why it's not a 5/5.
but have continued using having glued the handle, and it still works very well. just needs regluing every couple of months!

I have no idea how well this might work as when it arrived today the handle was already broken. Noticed a previous reviewer had mentioned this so I would stay clear of this make / model as it seems it might be down to weak materials and poor manufacture or quality control. Would also like to comment that there seemed to be a lot of flimsy plastic making up the body of the appliance, not a good sign!

I bought the Breville Panini Press for my daughter,she was going to uni and particularly requested I buy her a sandwich toaster. I found this press and bought it,for her. Before she went away we tried it! It is probably more suited to a family than a single girl, but she is sharing with a lot of other girls so we put it out on the counter for them all to try. I used it for the family before she went away. It makes amazing toasties and paninis, it is easy to clean. It is quick and although it takes up room on the counter it can have another appliance placed on top until it is needed.
I did want to try cooking my home-made naan bread in it, but I didn'tgetround to it. I usually use the grill and a baking tray, maybe if I didn't put down the lid it would work! Well worth the money. Lovely snacks in a trice.
Try the lowfat sprays instead of buttering the outside of the taostie. Tastes much better with butter though!
