The Breville VKJ468 black stainless steel traditional kettle combines classic design with high performance. It is high wattage--3 kilowatt (kW)--keeping the boiling time short to save you time and has a concealed element. This makes it easier to clean and more energy efficient than an immersed element, requiring a lower minimum water level in order to function safely. It has a capacity of 1.7 litres (l) and so can accommodate about six to eight cups--ideal for families. The VKJ468 is designed with a rear water gauge indicating water level to help you fill the kettle to the desired amount. The traditional shape and chrome handle gives your kettle a sophisticated style, while the water gauge illuminates blue on boiling adding to the smart effect. The kettle is fitted with a non-slip, 360° rotational base for left and right-handed usage and cord storage to keep your kitchen worktop fuss-free.

bought this kettle after a ouple of times boiling the black coated cover has started to bubble up mae it peel of when you touch it.
Smart looking kettle. I have been using it now for three months, and it performs well. The on/off switch is somewhat flimsy. Easily kept clean, due to the black finish.
If you are mad about design, stylish gadgets in your kitchen this one is a "no doubt" kettle. I still think though they are more practical the ones that haven't got the handle on the top. But this was not for me so. The price was also good compared to high street prices.
