The Breville VKJ386 polished stainless steel jug kettle combines modern design with high performance. It is high wattage--3 kilowatt (kW)--keeping the boiling time short to save you time and has a concealed element. This makes it easier to clean and more energy efficient than an immersed element, requiring a lower minimum water level in order to function safely. It has a capacity of 1.5 litres (l) and so can accommodate about five to seven cups--ideal for families. The VKJ386 is designed with dual water windows indicating water level to help you fill the kettle to the desired amount. And these windows illuminate blue when boiling, making it easier to judge the correct amount and giving your kettle a sophisticated style. The kettle is fitted with a non-slip, 360° rotational base for left and right-handed usage and cord storage to keep your kitchen worktop fuss-free.

I like this kettle but would agree with other reveiwers that it is indeed very noisy. Saying that, it's easy to use and boils the water quite quickly. The blue lights are nice to look at. I have no trouble working out how much water required for one, two or three cups of tea. I thought this item good value and have only marked it down one star due to the noise whilst boiling.

This is a really great kettle-it has a fairly long lead, any not needed can be wound underneath the base.You only need to boil as much water as you need (even as little as 1 cup) and it looks really good too!
