After having had four other top of range modern kettle in the past five years I had become very disappointed that I could not seem to buy and everyday kettle that did not end up leaking and or would not turn off when boiled. So I bought this one as middle of the range half expecting I will need to replace in a year or so, we will have to wait and see! I must say first impression is that it is a good looking very functional metal chrome kettle that boils quickly and is relatively silent with a good firm on/off blue lit switch, so no real complaints yet.
A couple of small negatives, the flip top hinged opening top only opens half way up meaning you need to take little extra care when filling it with water. Secondly the water level window is as good as useless as it in positioned behind the handle and can only be viewed by picking the kettle up and holding it round trying to keep your hand from obstructing the small thin viewing window. This does not bother me too much as it is just as easy to flip the lid open and look down into the kettle. Also I have found on all the previous kettles that these water level windows are a point of weakness as often as not this is where the leaks occur, so having just one small one like this for me reduces the leak risk so it did not put me off although it might not suite everybody. Overall a good value smart looking very functional kettle.
