The Breville VKJ364 polished stainless steel jug kettle combines modern design with high performance. It is high wattage--3 kilowatt (kW)--keeping the boiling time short to save you time and has a concealed element. This makes it easier to clean and more energy efficient than an immersed element, requiring a lower minimum water level in order to function safely. It has a capacity of 1.7 litres (l) and so can accommodate about six to eight cups--ideal for families. The VKJ364 is designed with an extra-large rear water window indicating water level to help you fill the kettle to the desired amount. And this window illuminates blue when boiling, making it easier to judge the correct amount. It also has Lift-off Illumination--the same blue shade glowing when the kettle is lifted off the power base improving visibility when filling and giving your kettle a sophisticated style. The kettle is fitted with a non-slip, 360° rotational base for left and right-handed usage and cord storage to keep your kitchen worktop fuss-free.

This kettle looked to fit the bill, but not only is the "illumination" light a gimmick, it also doesn't work very well. The idea is that it's off while the kettle is on it's base, illuminates the fill window when you remove it from the base, or when you turn on the kettle. In reality, it did pretty much the opposite most of the time! I may have got a faulty unit, and I recognise that can happen with any make/model, but even when it worked properly it wasn't really very effective at making it easier to see the water level when filling in the first place.

i bought this kettle for my kitchen looks stylish boils water quickly, quietly, looks nice works nice and even it looks pricey you cannot find any thing that is cheap looks cheap or sounds cheap in it
