The Breville VKJ336 stainless steel jug kettle combines modern design with high performance. It is high wattage--3 kilowatt (kW)--keeping the boiling time short to save you time and has a concealed element. This makes it easier to clean and more energy efficient than an immersed element, requiring a lower minimum water level in order to function safely. It has a capacity of 1.7 litres (l) and so can accommodate about six to eight cups--ideal for families. The VKJ336 is designed with a side water window indicating water level to help you fill the kettle to the desired amount. And the switch illuminates blue on boiling giving your kettle a sophisticated style. The Breville VKJ336 is a pricey but good cordless kettle in most respects however the lid is designed in a way that is likely to fail after a year or so's use which is exactly what happened to ours; otherwise very good kettle, clear marking of how much water to fill so you are heating the correct amount, strong body and neat base.
Breville would not replace after 14 months relying on the 12 month guarantee. Pity as I am sure if they did they would improve their product durability in their interest and the customer. I can supply pictures but no image upload available here.
