The Breville VKJ333 red stainless steel traditional kettle combines classic design with high performance. It is high wattage--3 kilowatt (kW)--keeping the boiling time short to save you time and has a concealed element. This makes it easier to clean and more energy efficient than an immersed element, requiring a lower minimum water level in order to function safely. It has a capacity of 1.7 litres (l) and so can accommodate about six to eight cups--ideal for families. The VKJ333 is designed with a rear water gauge indicating water level to help you fill the kettle to the desired amount. The red finish and traditional shape give your kettle a sophisticated style. This is complemented by the polished stainless steel accents and base, while the switch illuminates blue on boiling adding to the smart effect. The kettle is fitted with a non-slip, 360° rotational base for left and right-handed usage and cord storage to keep your kitchen worktop fuss-free.

The Silver band around the base corrodes and becomes impossible to clean the "fur" that forms on it off. In addition to the band furring up, the lid has started to rust, and overall the kettle looks about 3 years old, not 3 months! It has also began to need a bit of wiggling on the base before contact is made and the kettle comes on. You can do better with a cheap supermarket kettle.

Great kettle. Fast boiler with a large capacity.
Most importantly it pours perfectly. No spills or drops.
Only reason I am not giving this a 5 star review is the knob on the lid is a tad small to grip securely. But that is a minor detail.

the lid is very tight..better than loose i suppose. easy to clean,but no filter in the spout.shame on you. will look elsewhere when it explodes in a year from now.(not that im suggesting that breville kettles explode)wouldnt recommend to a friend.

Frustrated
I purchased this style of kettle for the handle shape which is easier on the wrist movement. It is very difficult to remove the lid as the nob is small and not possible to grip! Read more

Not as RED as it looks in the picture
I was hoping for a really vibrant red after seeing this picture but it's a dullish red instead. Disappointed but learning to live with it. Boils pretty quickly & pours well. Read more

Not that good !!
Well I have only had mine just a month now and its broke, we changed the fust as advised in the booklet but the light came on and the kettle didn't work at all !!! Read more
