The previous kettle we owned was also a Brita kettle so when it finally became tired and stopped automatically knocking off, we decided a new kettle was in order. We decided we still wanted to stick to a water filtered kettle as our water tastes so bad!
I ordered this one online and after comparing a few, decided to go for this one as it was titled 'Silver & Stainless Steel'. Our old kettle was half stainless steel so I wanted a direct replacement.
When the parcel arrived my husband & I were left somewhat surprised/disappointed to discover that in fact the only 'Stainless Steel' on the whole kettle was the lid! The rest of the kettle (bottom half) was actually made from a silver coloured plastic.
Initially my husbands first reaction was we should return the product and find the exact replacement of our original kettle however after actually trying the kettle I found it to be a lot lighter than our previous kettle and it felt nice to use.
We decided to keep the kettle and are happy to say it has been a sufficient replacement so far. You fill the water through the lid (not the spout) as with all Brita kettles but the drainage time isn't long and you can set the kettle off boiling before it had finished draining.
I would have rated it 5 stars however have to say it does look 'cheaper' than the SS version although am overall happy with it's performance.

Does everything it is supposed to do, purchased to replace Brita Filter Kettle no longer available. Capacity is too small, just about makes 4 cups, filters maxi type expensive. Unfortunatley I found I could have purchased it cheaper elsewhere.
Owned a previous version of this kettle and was happy with it because it lasted 7 years, so we hope this version will last as long. There are a couple of issues good and bad about this new version though and they are: opening and closing mechanism works smoothly, the time to boil seems less and it isn't as heavy as the last one but that brings us to the bad points: capacity is much less, no control to keep water warm after boiling and well, nothing else. Those are the only negative points. We are very happy with this kettle so far, just hope it will last as long as our previous one.
