I've had this just over a week now and have so far made soup, smoothies, humous, chopped herbs, onions and nuts, wipped cream and pancake batter, all of which it's done with ease as you would expect.

The things I like about this compared to other hand blenders i've had are; it looks great (the red and stainless steel looks very stylish); the size of the wipping/ beating containers are generous and seem sturdy enough, easy to clean and dishwasher safe; the button release for the attachments is much easier to use.

The things I don't like so much; the weight of the hand held unit, it's heavier than other hand blenders i've used, so would be a bit tiring if youre doing large batches of soups; the noise it makes is slightly high pitched, and so makes it sound less robust, and it has no wall mounting or storage facility.

All things considered my intial reaction is I like this blender over all and would recommend it. However the proof of the pudding...will update my review in a few months to comment on its durability after regular use.

I had my old Breville 3-in-1 set for almost two years, and it was still going like a little trooper, until yet another bout of chronic random stupidity hit me and I overfilled the mini chopper with biscuits (for the birds) one day and then couldn't get the lid off, so banged it forcefully on the table and managed to break the mechanism.

The replacement set is being treated with the respect it deserves. I love the new red colour - very dapper and easily cleaned, and it's every bit as sturdy and useful as its predecessor. It's one of the few gadgets in the kitchen that actually earns its (small) surface space. This one doesn't get pushed to the back of a dusty cupboard with the pasta maker, ice cream maker, oversized pestle/mortar, sushi making kit and assorted other sounds-good-but-not-worth-the-hassle detritus. Nope, this little beauty earns its keep and I use it most days. The blender attachment is remarkably effective for such a petite gizmo and makes quick work even of the biggest pot of soup. The plastic blender pot is handy for storage and whipping up smoothies, and the beauty of the whisk attachment is that it's almost impossible to overwhisk cream with it because you're fully in control of the speed and it's not as frenetic as most hand whisks. I find that it's fantastic for making up a super quick batch of delicious homemade mayo - you don't have to go as slowly as they say, just use a pint sized pyrex jug, buck in an egg yolk, spoon of dijon, bit of honey, worcester and your chosen seasonings/herbs, then drizzle in your oil while whisking. When it's thick enough, add a spoon or so of lemon juice/white wine vinegar to taste, and you've got gorgeous mayo, all done in about 3 minutes.

This is a sturdy, beautiful piece of kitchen equipment that does everything I want doing. bung an onion in and its chopped for you in seconds, whisk up double cream super-fast, soups easily done. Has made my life easier in one fell swoop - and it looks great too. :-D

I've had this for a year now and words from the negative reviews I read keep coming back to me as I use it. Although it is certainly very pretty (for a blender) it is just far too powerful. There is only one speed setting - very fast - and you have to hold your thumb on the button to keep it going which is a bit tiring for something requiring more than a minute's quick whizz.
I was looking forward to the blender most - my last cheap, plastic blender from a supermarket (£5) tended to melt into soups as it blended - so the metal blender on this looked great. And so it is. Except that you have to hold it at just the right angle and get some sort of vacuum or suction bond or something to make it actually blend. Getting a completely smooth consistency takes a long time.
The whisk is just mental and splatters the kitchen in whatever it's supposed to be whisking unless it is a small amount in the cylindrical jug-thing provided. It was just too brutal for the mayonnaise I was making and split it. Pancake mixture went a remarkable distance.
The mini food-processor thing is just too small to bother with - it might fit one vegetable like an onion or a small courgette - so I've not used it.
And the most annoying thing: however you fit the jug-thing and food-processor bits into a dishwasher they collect a puddle of icky water. You can avoid this with the blender and whisk by lying them horizontally.
To be honest, I prefer my various other whisks or blenders that I've bought for a fiver from Sainsbury's/Asda/Tesco. They may not be as stylish but they do the job and cost a fraction of the price!

Great looking product, however after 8 months, the blade in the main mixing part doesn't stay in place. Sometimes it will stay for a couple of seconds, but that is the most it will stay. I then have to wait for the motor to stop before pushing the blade up.

Prior to this one I always had Braun. Both blenders lasted 4 years and used on a daily basis. Disappointed that my shiny red Breville didn't even last 1 year.
